Strength and conditioning use the principles of progression and overload, individualization periodization, specificity, and reversibility to enhance your performance, improve how you move and improve your ability to move with force, speed and for long durations or repeated efforts. We do this by following performance quality standards to ensure you get the highest results possible, and this is where an in-depth understanding of Programming & Periodization is essential.
TRAINING METHODS WE USE.
Once we understand movement analysis, testing batteries, and creating a periodized plan. We need to consider the training methods we are going to use to elicit the best results. And then in turn the most effective movements to achieve your desired results. Some of these training methods will include, Speed & Agility Training, Plyometric Training, Ballistic Training, Olympic Weightlifting, Strength Training (Resistance Training) and Metabolic Conditioning
These are ordered according to fatigue sensitivity (how fast performance diminishes) and how we would usually prioritize them during a training session, for example: intensity and complexity first. From here we consider and make small adaptations to the frequency, intensity, volume, and type of exercise you are doing to allow you to achieve much more while keeping injuries at bay.
GETTING STARTED.
A strength and conditioning coach must decide what performance qualities are the priority, and this is decided with a Movement Analysis or assessment of the persons movement patterns, abilities, limitations, and strengths. Once the movement analysis is done, we create a battery of appropriate fitness tests that help us to profile the athlete, set goals, and inform the training plan. Eg: What are their strengths and weaknesses, and how are they going to improve?
The final step in the initial process is taking all the collected data and formulating a plan. This plan is then split down into blocks called mesocycles (usually 3-8 weeks), and micro cycles which refer to one week of training – we refer to this process as Periodization. This helps us to formulate a plan that takes an intelligent and systematic approach to a person’s physical development.
So as you can see there is a whole lot that goes on behind the scenes that offers you more personalised experience.

Our Creche and Kids Club is a FREE service offered to members.
Children are well catered for in the mornings between the hours of 9:00am and 11:30am Monday to Friday and 8:00am – 11:00am on Saturday.
An evening creche is available between 5:00pm – 7:15pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays.
The Creche has a wonderful indoor and outdoor area where the children can play with a selection of toys and activities, including outdoor area for bike/trike riding.
Our wonderful creche ladies: Jodie,Rachael, Kaitlynne & Elise are constantly supervising the children so you can relax and enjoy your workout.
